Registration: Players, entries and payments

Once your tournament fundamentals are established, the next steps involve managing your participants (players and entries) and then generating the match brackets that will structure your competitions.

Understanding players vs. entries​

It's important to distinguish between players and entries within MixItOne:

  • Players: These are the individual people participating in the tournament. A single player can be part of multiple competitions (e.g., playing in Men's Singles and Men's Doubles). Player information is managed at the tournament level.
  • Entries: An entry is a specific registration for a competition.
    • For Singles competitions, one entry consists of one player.
    • For Doubles or Mixed Doubles competitions, one entry consists of two players forming a partnership. Each competition has its own list of entries.

Players and entries can be managed yourself or self-managed by players via the MixItOne portal. You can control the portal settings for your tournament and competition, and manage payment.

Managing players and entries manually​

Players​

Players can be added to your tournament via the People > Players tab:

  1. Click "Add player".
  2. You can search for existing club members or create new player profiles if they are not already in your club. Creating new players for a competition will not add them to your club.
  3. During this process you can assign players to one or more competitions they intend to participate in.

Entries​

You can create individual entries for competitions from the People > Entries tab. This tab also lets your adjust entries and manage seeding.

Click Add entry to create a new entry for a competition. Choose the competition, select the appropriate number of players and choose a seed value.

You can also bulk create entries from the People > Players tab by selecting multiple players and clicking "Create entries". This is useful for quickly registering many players into a competition.

tip

The players and entries screens will show you entries that have an issue you need to resolve. A warning icon will show next to entries that need more players, or players that are not registered for any competition.

Player sign-up via the MixItOne portal​

You can allow players to self-register for your tournament via the MixItOne portal. This is a great way to automate player management and reduce administrative overhead.

From the Tournament tab follow the steps in the Sign-up section to enable registration. You can write a custom message and upload an image for the tournament and for each competition.

Payment options​

You can also set up payment options for your tournament. MixItOne supports various payment methods, depending on your location. You can choose more than one payment method and set a price for each method.
