Tournament Overview

Pro feature

Tournaments are available with a MixItOne Pro subscription. Pro accounts can run unlimited tournaments with full bracket management and court scheduling.

MixItOne tournaments help you manage competitive events from start to finish. Whether you're organizing a quick club knockout or a multi-day championship with multiple competitions, the system handles player registration, bracket generation, match scheduling, and result tracking—so you can focus on running a great event.

How Tournaments Work

A tournament in MixItOne is a structured event that can contain multiple competitions. For example, your "Club Championship 2025" tournament might include separate competitions for Men's Singles, Women's Doubles, and Mixed Doubles. Each competition runs independently with its own bracket, players, and matches, but they all share the same tournament timeline and court resources.

The tournament system guides you through a clear workflow: set up your tournament and competitions, let players register (or add them manually), generate brackets automatically, and then manage matches on tournament day. The system handles bracket progression, court assignments, and winner tracking automatically.

Player Registration Made Simple

One of the most powerful features is the public registration portal. Instead of collecting registrations manually, you can share a registration link that lets players sign up themselves. Players visit the link, choose which competitions they want to enter, provide their details, and complete payment if required. For doubles competitions, players can sign up alone and share a partner code, or join an existing entry with their partner's code.

You control the entire registration experience. Add a banner image and detailed description to make your tournament stand out. Configure payment methods—support for cash payments at the venue or bank transfers—and choose whether payment is collected per player or per entry. Once players register, you review and confirm their entries from your tournament dashboard. The system tracks payment status and sends automatic confirmation emails after you approve entries.

Tournament Formats

MixItOne supports multiple tournament formats to suit different types of events, from quick knockouts to comprehensive round-robin competitions. Each format automatically generates brackets based on your entries and seeding, with the system handling bracket progression and winner advancement. You can preview how your tournament will look using the scenario tool, which estimates match counts and duration based on your court setup and format choices. See the format-specific guides for details on each available format.

Running Your Tournament

On tournament day, the system helps you manage everything smoothly. Start by checking in arriving players through the registration tab. As players arrive, the system begins creating matches based on your bracket structure.

The court management interface shows all your courts at a glance, with each court displaying its current status—empty, pending (match assigned), or in progress. The system intelligently suggests which matches to assign next, considering player availability, rest periods between matches, and how long players have been waiting. You can accept the suggestions or manually assign matches as needed.

When a match starts, a timer begins automatically. Once the match finishes, you record the winner and optionally enter scores. The system immediately updates the bracket, advancing winners to the next round and showing you which matches are ready to play next. You can watch entries progress through the competition visually, and when a competition completes, you'll see a celebration message with the winner.

Planning and Statistics

Before your tournament goes live, use the scenario tool to preview different configurations. Test various format settings, court counts, and entry numbers to see how they affect total match count and estimated duration. Once you're happy with a scenario, apply it to update your tournament settings.

After your tournament, the statistics page provides a comprehensive overview. See match completion status across all competitions, view winners for each competition (including division winners for multi-division formats), and check standings tables for Round Robin and Swiss formats. The system tracks everything automatically, so you have complete records of your event.

Getting Started

To begin, create your tournament with dates, court count, and registration deadline. Then add competitions, choosing formats and entry limits for each. If you want players to self-register, configure the public portal with descriptions, payment methods, and registration links. Add players (manually or through the portal), create entries, and set seeding. Finally, use the scenario tool to preview your tournament, then start registration and run your event.
